Green Power Plant (Add-On)

As interest in ground-source heat pump (geothermal) systems has increased, we have been looking for ways to locate the deep wells without great site disruption. A new garage provides the opportunity to drill wells prior to slab placement. The noisy pumps can be located in the storage room, and the heat exchange piping can be sent underground to the house. Solar power is also ideal on the garage, where street trees don’t throw their shade. Grid-tied photovoltaic panels will slow down your meter or run it backwards as you generate electricity on sunny days. These systems can be sized to provide you a zero-energy or net producing home, without even having to totally overhaul your house.
